Grab some sunscreen and your yellow floaty wings because I have for you the perfect recipe for summertime pool fun! As you bask in the sun, cool down and enjoy this doozy of an adult beverage. I repeat, NOT FOR KIDDIES! These babies pack a wallop and are absurdly strong! You’re welcome, Sporkers!

This recipe has been passed down through my family for years. Alcoholics unite! Just kidding. Alcoholics attend meetings. It has been known to enliven even the dullest of events, not to mention family members!

Prior to embarking on this adventure of boozy debauchery, be responsible and hide all keys to heavy machinery. Because I don’t know about you, but when I drink, I get a powerful urge to operate a forklift. Right! Okay, really I just want to operate a fork. Because booze makes me hungry…

High Octane Slushies

Ingredients
1- 12 ounce frozen concentrated limeade
Rum (don’t skimp on this at the liquor store, I recommend investing in the gallon jug, just put the empty in the neighbor’s trash can so no one can judge you!)
24 ounces 7-Up

Instructions
In a 2 quart pitcher, add the concentrated limeade. It makes no difference if the concentrate is frozen or not. There are benefits to both methods. The frozen will obviously freeze a little faster so if you are impatient, go for that one. The liquid version mixes a little easier. It is entirely up to you!

The empty limeaid can will be your measuring device. Add 1 can rum and 2 cans 7-Up (this is already diluted, the original recipe only had 1 can of 7-Up!)

Stir well and freeze overnight.

The next day (maybe not morning but hey, it’s 5 o’clock somewhere) use a spoon to dole out the mixture into a glass and enjoy!

Additional Tips

*This drink will be strong and can come out a little sour especially the longer you have it in the freezer. If you need to tone it down a bit, add more 7-Up to your drink. This should help prevent the pinched face reaction sour generally inspires.

**If you are really impatient and can’t wait for the mixture to freeze, you can always use a blender to add the snow-cone like goodness. This will also tone down the mixture because you are adding water.
