That’s why we’re giving you our own take, one number a day until Christmas, so that you can celebrate the holidays by making something you’d actually want to eat. Now get counting and cooking.
Rumors have been circulating for a few years now that the holiday season is time-consuming and stressful. Apparently a greedy attitude can have a negative effect on holidays. Who knew? If you’re the type who spends the days surrounding Christmas in a panic (hunting for gifts, preparing food, cursing at the weather), set aside a few minutes to prepare yourself a dessert. These recipes are ready to eat in less than ten minutes, perfect for those busy days leading up to Santa’s birthday.
Ten Minute Cookies and Cream Parfaits
One package (prepared) vanilla pudding
Chocolate wafer cookies, crushed
I’m not even sure directions are necessary. This is a parfait, not brain surgery. But here we go anyway.
You shouldn’t eat just one parfait, or you shouldn’t eat a parfait alone. Regardless of which route you end up choosing, go ahead and grab two tall glasses.
In the bottom of each glass, place a thick layer of vanilla pudding. Next, add a layer of chocolate wafers, whipped cream, and then chocolate wafers again. Add a second layer vanilla pudding on top of that.
Top with whipped cream and garnish with an unbroken wafer.
Ten Minute Honey Cheesecake
2 butternut snap biscuits
1 cup cream cheese
¼ cup honey
12 shortcrust pastry tartlets
1 ¼ cup whipped cream
Place biscuits in a small food processor. Pulse until fine crumbs form
Using an electric mixer, beat cream cheese and honey until smooth.
Top with whipped cream and biscuit crumbs. Serve immediately.
