The Lazy Superbowl Recipe


It takes losing the concept of free time to fully appreciate the modern invention that is the Crock Pot. I always teased my mom when she made Crock Pot dinners. Cooking in a Crock Pot didn’t seem like cooking, it seemed like a way to cheat the system.

But I finally understand now. Crock pot cooking is so much easier.

I love sharing what I cook with my friends and family. But with non-existent free time, my recipes have become less involved and I can’t spend hours making appetizers. But it’s Super Bowl weekend, and there will be food!

So what if I told you I found an easy, three-ingredient recipe? And it takes only 10 minutes to prepare. Then the Crock Pot works its magic. Well sit back and be amazed, Sporkers. Now you can spend all your extra time deciding whether you think the New England Patriots or the Seattle Seahawks deserve to win the Super Bowl more. You’re welcome.

Bacon-Wrapped Hot Dogs


2 packages hot dogs, cut in halves or thirds
1 package uncooked bacon, cut down the middle
brown sugar

Take a piece of hot dog and a piece of bacon. Wrap the bacon around the hot dog, securing with the toothpick.

Layer your hot dogs in the bottom of the Crock Pot. Once the bottom is completely filled, spread a layer of brown sugar over the top, about 1/2 to a 3/4 cups.

Then repeat with another layer of your hot dogs. Followed by another layer of brown sugar. Repeat until your hot dogs are gone.

Then put the lid on and cook 3-4 hours on high, until the bacon is lightly browned.

Now let your friends guess how long you slaved away in the kitchen making these delicious bacon wrapped hot dogs.
